During her Lollapalooza performance, Kesha had an unexpected and startling moment on stage. While performing her song “Backstabber,” she discovered that what she thought was a prop knife was, in fact, a real butcher knife—a swap made without her knowledge.
The pop star shared on social media after her set, “Apparently, the prop knife went missing, and they replaced it with an actual butcher knife stolen from the kitchen. I didn’t know… till now.” She even encouraged fans to rewatch the moment, where she held the knife, dancing and mimicking stabbing motions alongside her backup dancers.
Kesha’s Lollapalooza set featured a mix of her career-spanning hits, including her latest single, “Joyride,” which has recently gained traction on TikTok. She also entertained the crowd with a remix of her classic song “Blow,” incorporating a viral audio clip featuring Vice President Kamala Harris.
The music festival continued throughout the weekend with other big names like Megan Thee Stallion, Hozier, SZA, The Killers, and Blink-182 gracing the Chicago stage.
