Chloë Grace Moretz has come out as a “gay woman” while expressing her support for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. With Election Day just around the corner, the Nimona star shared on Instagram that she “voted early” for Vice President Harris in the 2024 election. In her post, she emphasized how her identity played a role in her decision.

“There’s so much at stake this election,” Moretz wrote alongside a photo of her “I voted early” sticker. “I believe the government shouldn’t have control over my body. Decisions about my body should come only from me and my doctor. Kamala Harris will protect that for us.”

Moretz also highlighted the importance of legal protections for the LGBTQ+ community. “As a gay woman, I believe we need strong protections and access to the care we deserve,” she stated.

She concluded her post by encouraging her 24 million followers to vote early, urging them to plan their trips to the polls with friends and visit IWillVote.com for more information.

This marks the first time Moretz has publicly discussed her sexuality, although she has been linked to model Kate Harrison since 2018. The couple has often been seen together and even wore matching rings during a visit to Disneyland earlier this year.

While Moretz typically keeps her personal life private, she has been vocal about LGBTQ+ rights, attending protests and advocating for change. Reflecting on her role in The Miseducation of Cameron Post, a film about a teen sent to gay conversion therapy, she addressed criticisms regarding straight actors playing LGBTQ+ characters.

“Don’t assume anyone’s sexuality,” she said in an interview. “We’re all just human, trying to be with the people we love. Let people be who they want to be.”
